Red Headed Woodpecker

A few nights ago this was a rare spotting. A red headed woodpecker in the trees. Tried to grab my camera but I scared him away. He joins the red bellied woodpecker and the downies that I have seen this year!

A Day at the Beach

Today, I am working on this Ros Stallcup design called a Day at the Beach from her Summer Garden book. This painting is done in acrylics using DecoArt Americana paints. I still have some finishing touches to do and boo boo's to fix!

Rocking Chair Magic

Painted this quiet scene today based on Louise Jackson, MDA design. This painting uses Folk Art Artist Pigments as watercolor.

Downy Woodpecker

Spotted two baby downy woodpeckers today in the trees next to my house. I couldn't get a picture of them they were to quick to climb up the tree and I spooked them I think. They looked like the picture I found on: http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Downy_Woodpecker.html.

HD Red Flowers Painting Class

Painting class yesterday morning at Joann Fabric. Two excited students! Working with HD paint is a bit different, more putzing and looser than One Stroke but the results are beautiful! Ladies, you were great fun to work with! I look forward to doing it again!

Working on my samples for Joann June and July classes. I would rather be painting other things but I need to get them done by June 1st. I will post pics when I am done.

Bird Feeding

Today, I fed the squirrels and blue jays peanuts as I always do. There were a lot of squirrels today and a few blue jays. I haven't seen the cardinals in about a week. I was surprised again with the red bellied woodpecker who came to partake in the peanuts. This was the fourth spotting of him. Last time was about a week ago and the time before that my daughter Jenn and I spotted him twice in one day a couple of months ago on the roof eating our peanuts.
